All encoders are in use?

I've had a couple situations in the past week where my SageMC server got stuck and had to be restarted. I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. I'm running SageMC 6.3.5 with three DirecTV H21 receivers. If I try to change channels it tells me "all encoders are currently in use". If I look at my Video Sources Setup details, all three inputs show "currently being used for live tv: true" even though nothing is using them. The inputs are one PVR-150 and a PVR-500. Restarting the SageMC software on the server fixes the issue, so it appears to be a software issue.

I assume that by "SageMC", you actually mean "SageTV"?

Were any clients being used to watch live TV w/o stopping playback or putting the client to sleep? Do you have menus on the clients set to always play video? If so, live TV recording could still be active on the clients.

SageMC=Sage Media Center -- am I not using the correct terminology here? Not sure.

I do have them set to show video on the guide menu and such if that is what you are asking. Each of my clients are set up so that when I hit the button on my remote programmed to turn the TV on/off via a USB-UIRT, it exits Sage to the main menu through EventGhost, so I don't think that is the issue.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it last night (not sure about the other day) was I had been into the color callibration settings on each input and was kind of fiddling around with it. I'm wondering if going in and out of that as well as changing the channel while in color callibration might have caused the condition.

Just so you know: it is actually SageTV Media Center & most people on the forum just write "SageTV". SageMC refers to the custom interface (STV) of that name.

If you simply go to the main menu w/o stopping playback, then playback simply pauses, but recording continues. You best bet is to either put SageTV into standby mode, or at least use the Stop command.

Thanks! I'll change from exit to main menu to standby and see if that helps.
