having 2 problems - color changes to vista basic and no sound
I finally have SageTV installed and configured (for the most part). I'm having two problems, however.
1. When I start to play something back, Vista switches to the Basic color scheme (I'm running Vista Home Premium). It says that something within Sage is not compatible with the aero color scheme (or whatever it's called in Premium LOL). At first it was playing back my video in black & white, but I was able to adjust the settings on the color, and that fixed that. 2. I have no sound, either with Live TV or with recordings. At first I thought maybe it was something with my tuner card (Hauppauge HVR 1600), but then I was able to watch Live TV just fine using Windows Media Center. So apparently getting sound through the card isn't a problem, but somehow I must not have the correct audio decoder or SOMETHING. I cannot figure out how to correct this though. Is there a way to find out which audio codec Media Center is using so that I can configure Sage to use the same one? |

In SageTV switch to VMR9 and turn FSE off.

That didn't work, but AHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I DID have my satellite box connected to my tuner card via the S-video, using the composite adapter. I switched to just using plain old coax cable, and YAHOO! I have no idea why Media Center was able to pick up the sound, but at this point, I really don't care. Thanks for the help! |
