Not playing music videos - Codec issue?

I have a bunch of music videos that I went ahead and mounted as video files and created a genre called music videos. I don't know anything about them except they are mpeg files (extension .mpg). What I am finding is that only 1/3 of them seem to want to play. On the others, I select play and it opens them up as if I am paused. That is, I see the video on the screen and it just sits there. I can scan in time throughout the file and see the video change as it should, but it never starts "playing".

The same files play fine in WMP, so I know they aren't corrupted.

Since I can see the video, my guess is there is an issue with the audio. Does this suggest I need a different codec? I have tried all the codecs on my system and they all behave the same.

I guess in general I am a bit confused about how to select the proper codec. In my case, I only use the ones that come with the Hauppauge installation. If I choose any of the other codecs, I get an error stating that it could not start video playback when I try to watch a dvd or a recording.

Have you tried the latest release candidate version, V6.3.10? (http://sagetv.com/beta.html) This sounds like it might be related to a bug that was fixed since V6.3.5 was released.

I haven't tried V6.3.10 yet. I am still on V6.3.5. I will try it and report back. Thanks for the suggestion.
