Consistent Crash w Search by All Fields

Hey all,

I have been having a few problems with the HD Extender related to stability of the platform. I can make the HD Extender crash on a regular repeatable basis if I go to Search and and choose Search by all Fields -- the screen simply goes black and I have to power off/on with the remote to get it to start up again. This issue has been repeatable for a few software loads now.

I am running the following:
Server
Windows XP
Sage 6.3.7.160 software load

HD Extender is running version 20080204 0

Any thoughts?

Is there anything in particular you search for when this happens? Are you searching TV or Video? Have you tried the same thing on a PC client? I tried it on the extender and did not have that problem.

You are already running a beta version so try the latest beta to see what happens. If it continues, you should probably file a bug report.

If I try it on a client or on the server the search works fine. I don't even have to try to perform the search, as soon as I click on "Search on All Fields" to jump to that screen, the extender crashes.

I can try another load, however, this issue has been around for a few loads for me pre-beta as well. I will file a bug report.

With help from technical support this issue is now resolved. It ended up being a problem with one of the customizations -- specifically the Motherboard/CPU monitor plug-in. I had loaded that on the HD Extender and it would show me the CPU load on the server machine. Went back to the stock UI and the problem went away. Then loaded my *must have* customizations (Comskip, Dynamic Menus) and everything is now good.

Oh yeah... sometimes I forget to say that again: always revert to a setup w/o any customizations, including disabling the hidden extras, then see if the problem still exists. Anyway, glad it got figured out.
