V6.3.9 kill my extender?

So I did a fresh install of sage, added my extender license, enabled the sage server, and went upstairs to plug in my MVP (wired). It came up, found the new sage server, got 3 bars through loading application and went black. I waited for 20 minutes and nothing. So I unplugged it, plugged it back in, now it gets to the last bar on initial startup (doesn't get to the check network status) and locks up. Anyone have any ideas? Is my MVP now fried?

EDIT UPDATE: So I left it plugged in for 1/2 hour and it came up finally. Now, the UI is very responsive, but whenever I play a show, live or recorded, SD or HD, it plays about 10 seconds of the show and then stops, hangs there for 15-20 seconds, plays another 5-10 seconds of the show, etc etc. It hangs every time a command is sent by the remote. The network is gigabyte, the server is a quad core intel 6600 with 2 gigs ram running vista with V6.39.

Sounds like an overheating problem. Do you leave the MVP powered ON all the time? Just a thought, it might cool better if you leave it standing up with the stand that came with it.
