disable video on server?
My server is Win2k server on a P3 600 MHz and 128MB of RAM.
It simply does not have the horsepower to handle MPEG decoding. I'd like to be able to be able to tell SageTV that it should never attempt to play any MPEG2 streams on this machine. Right now, if I go to the LiveTV guide at the server, then SageTV hangs and requires that I end the task. |

Update: I hadn't installed the decoders: duh.
Nonetheless, my server is extremely sluggish when the preview window is running, so I'd still like the opportunity to disable playback. |

Go to the detailed setup and then to Multimedia (on the left hand side).
Look near the bottom of that window and you'll see "Hardware Decoding Only" and set it to 'enabled'. There have been issues of locking up the computer when you use the PVR-350 out without using software encoding as well. I can't get mine to run for more than 2 or 3 minutes without crashing. Let us know what happens. I run win2k advanced server as well. |

I'm not using a 350.
Thanks for the idea, though! |
