5.1 surround sound to Stereo

I was wondering if I have a dvd that is 5.1 and I want to play it as stereo on sage client on PC can I do that? right now when I play a 5.1 DVD on a sage client I donot hear most audio, some sounds are not there, as my sound card in the pc is not 5.1 capable.

You need to use AC3filter and set the output to stereo. This will downmix the 5.1 to 2 channels for you. The reason you can't hear most audio is that most of it is center channel, which you do not have.

Dunno if this is what you were talking about, but you can tell Sage to use the AC3 Filter in -- Setup>Detailed Setup> MPEG 2 Audio Decoder Filter
You may need to compensate for audio delay the filter causes there's a section for that too right below the filter selection.
That's what I do, and it seems to work. I still might be wrong though.

Install AC3filter, http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter , and then go into Sage's Detailed setup>Video/Audio and change the MPEG 2 Audio Decoder Filter to AC3Filter.

Then, you can adjust the AC3filter setting by running the AC3filter config program in windows. If you check the "show tray icon" option, then you can adjust the AC3filter settings on-the-fly.
