Disable channel remapping - listing a network only once

This is really the only thing about Sage that I do not like. I have read similar complaints from other people in the forum, so I am not alone. I understand why it does what it does and agree that the majority of the users probably want it do work this way. However, for a few of us, this causes some problems and I would like to be able to disable it. Is it possible to disable it? I can't find anything about it in the manual, but maybe someone has worked out a way.

From the manual:

"Alternatively, if the same network is available on both sources, but on different channel numbers, that network may be listed only once using only one of those channel numbers".

I want to see both channel numbers listed as I have two totally different sources (dish and dtv) and this is far from ideal for various reasons. I always have to pull out the satellite remote for the source I want and tune it manually.

1) I have seen it where the guide is off for one and the show I want to watch is on dish, but it is only tuning me to the one on DTV.

2) I have some difference in quality issues for some of the channels, so I want to pick which tuner I want to watch it from.

3) For some reason, I had some of the channels remap. So I got used having CNNHN on channel 204 from DTV lineup, and then suddenly it remapped to the channel on dish.

4) PPV and adult channels often have the same name PPV and so they all get remapped to the same channel. If I have purchased a PPV manually by tuning to that channel and using the satellite remote (say to channel 105), it is a hassle to get back to that channel since all PPV channels map to 102 or whatever. Also, some services allow you to purchase all the adult channels for the day and then you have to use the satellite remote to flip between them (for other users... I wouldn't do this )

5) I just don't like it. Why can't I make the decision to always record show XX on channel XX from source 2 instead of letting it choose for me.

6) I quite often take one of my sources up to my cabin for a few days, and this would allow me not to have to remove the lineup for my wife (not that this is hard). However, it is sometimes mapped to the source I have physically removed and then again the other satellite remote has to come out.

Again, I do understand why the majority of the people would not want it this way and would like to just see one instance of CNNHN in the guide and not care where Sage is recording from. It just doesn't work as well for me personally, so I was hoping there is a way to disable it? Trust me, if I am grumbling about this minor annoyance then I am more than happy with Sage.

And yes, I have set the merit functions of the tuner so that I do record primarily from the tuner of my choosing.

thanks!

I guess the no responses means "nope". Oh well... that is the answer I expected, but thought I would ask anyway.

Is it possible to simply rename a channel? That is... couldn't I just rename all my PPV channels so they are PPV100, PPV101, PPV102, etc. That would solve plenty of my problems. I realize I would get No Data in the guide, but there isn't any data for those channels anyway. I could also rename one of my CNNHN to be CNNHN2 as long as I am willing to accept that it also wouldn't have any guide data and I lose the ability to automatically record from the renamed channel.

thanks
