Ok, with sage debugging on, play a trailer and shutdown. Look near the end of the log and you should see some similar outputs as im my debug log below. I don't know that the results will be show anything obvious to us. If not, the tech folks at Sage may be able to identify something.

The lines that may be of interest first are:

Netflix_silverlight_control.exe / Firefox issue

I realize that Netflix_silverlight_control.exe is supposed to start when you start a movie. However, is it supposed to exit from memory after you're done watching a movie? In my case, it stays in memory... causing a silverlight netflix playback problem in Mozilla Firefox. The video gets cropped on all four sides after switching to full screen. This doesnt happen in IE.

Yes. However, now that it can be automatically launched by SageMC Netlifx, it probably should be set to shut down when finished.

Morgan,

Do you see any problems if I change netflix_silverlight_control.exe to simply close after stop (10,100)?

I'm having the same issue, don't see the file..

I'm new to SageTv. I'm using the SAGETV Media Center 6.5(trial) and trying to get Netflix added, but no luck so far..

Any step by step instructions for a rookie ?

Thank you all

You'll need to be a bit more detailed.

What issue are you having? What file don't you see?

Also, provide as much information on your system as possible.

Brain, that should be fine. Once I send Stop we go back to normal operation.

Are you installing this on a server, client or Extender?

First you need to download the SageMC 6.3.8a STV and unpack it to the
Program Files/SageTv/SageTv directory while SageTV is shut down on that PC. The instructions for downloading it and installing it are HERE.

If that is all set then download and unpack the NetFlix plugin files the same way as the SageMC STV files. Follow the installation and configuration instructions in this threads 1st post. The NetFlix_SageMC.xml file should then be found in x:/Program Files/SageTv/SageTv/STV/Sage3.

We can go from there based on your status.

I'm feeling like a dope but I can't manage to get to:

Quote:
4) Settings->SageMC->Extras->NetFlix (Enter account information)

I've imported the STVi and it asks if I want to merge with SageMC_169.xml. I say okay and it changes my background color to black for a second then I'm back to my blue background at the main menu. I then to proceed to step four and when I go to the extra's section I do not get any items on the right side.

I'm running:
SageTV V6.5.7.201
SageMC STV version 6.3.8a

Can anyone spot what dunderheaded thing I'm doing wrong?

Hmmm, I don't see it either. Perhaps a change in the SageMC 6.3.8a affected the linking for it or I had a reference problem when I exported.

In the mean time you can get to that same config info from the main NetFlix screen.

You can add NetFlix to your main menu by selecting the Options button on the main SageMC menu (or ESC key on keyboard). then
Main Menu Options->New...->New Internal Screen->NetFlix Main Menu

Then File...->Save menu file

Now select NetFlix from the main menu and then press the options button (or ESC or right mouse click).

Thanks Morgan. I was just coming back to report that I had added the NetFlix Main Menu and now I can access the configuration. Thanks again.

Morgan,

Good work man.. I have a question I can go as far as step 2, don;t see an option for 3) Choose File->Import and select the packaged NetFlix_SageMC.xml file.
And of course nothing is in Extras folder.

Thanks
Tim

That step 3 has been removed. That was just picking the NetFlix file in step 2.

WOW!

Hey Morgan,

You guys rock !!! I have this working on my SageTV client on my computer. Its amazinnggggg. I cant thank you enough.

Can you add this stuff to the first post? It will help others who havent used SageMC before. I am just copying other posts, but if it was all in the first post, I think it will save first time users.

((At the very top of the post:)

You will need SageMC, which allows custom menus, download the SageMC 6.3.8a STV and unpack it to the Program Files/SageTv/SageTv directory while SageTV is shut down on that PC. The instructions for downloading it and installing it are here:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17979

Both SageMC and the Netflix plugin are not supported by SageTV.

............. etc etc .....................

(Where it says add Netflix to the Main Menu:: ))
Right-click and select "main menu options" then New>"New Internal Screen" and select the "Netflix Main Menu" from the list. That will add the Netflix plugin to your main menu.

=================================

Thanks Everyone!!

I have this exact same problem, I will try this out when I get home.

Since this is going through loopback, this should work with the Placeshifter clients then as well right ?

I ll let you know.

Just a note to anyone having some delay issues when pressing stop, changing volume etc:

My 5 year old daughter put netflix_silverlight_control through a good workout and managed to uncover some bugs. Most are related to trying to change the volume and Play/Pause before the Neflix player is ready to receive such commands. It may result in you being locked out of executing other commands (such as stop) for up to 30 seconds.

As soon as I have some extra time I'll post an update to netflix_silverlight_control with fixes for the above, and other issues.

I've got everything working nicely with the exception of my remote control. I'm using Girder for sending keypresses (it's complicated but I'm using Girder for other things on my HTPC). Is there any way for me to control play/pause/stop using keypresses somehow?

Smile *** SORTING FEATURE REQUEST ***

Morgan, if its not too much trouble, is there any chance you could squeeze in a feature request that I'm sure everyone would love in the next immediate minor update?

- Sort movies by release year
- Sort by rating

You could have this sorting feature on the left hand side of all menus.

What do you think?

not sure where the problem is but any help would be appreciated -

I installed the new sage beta, then installed the latest sage_mc b12, then imported the newest netflix plugin - there is no netflix menu under the Extras in Sage MC Settings and the instant queue is not updating to show my actual list.... any thoughts on what I am doing wrong or what the problem is?

thanks

>> Pop in NetflixViewJNI.dll to the folder with Netflixviewer.exe and it should work.

Hmm.. that didnt work for me, so I think I may have a different problem, here goes:

I have Netflix working great on my server with the plugin. I am trying to replicate SnapDadddy's setup for using on Extenders and Placeshifters. I have imported the SageMC and Neflix stvi's and configured my account and the loop back channel 1. Setup my server to clone its output to RCA and looped back to channel 1.

I can browse all the netflix titles and everything great on the PS client, but when I go to view the film, it tunes to channel 1, but all i can see is my desktop sitting idle and staring back at me.

Any words of advise or encouragement to this new Netflix cadet, but long time SageTV user?

Thanks Morgan / Brainbone / MKAnet.
