SageTV Remote Scheduling
I've been looking through the forum discussions, and I don't find what I'm looking for. Hopefully someone can direct me to the correct discussion.
Does SageTV provide any mechanisms for remote scheduling over the internet? I travel periodically, and I'd like to be in my hotel room setting my SageTV system to record shows that I didn't schedule while at home. I've looked at the EPG Java interfaces, and building such a mechanism shouldn't be too difficult. THANKS! |

Well, I wouldn't say it doesn't support it precisely. I've used the client over a pretty slow link and it was fine as long as I didn't try to play any video (which is probably much harder now with v2, though). Also, a remote configuration web interface is definitely one of the v2 additions. I just didn't make it into the first beta.

In the meantime, you could try using a remote control program like Timbuktu or perhaps even the XP Pro remote assistance (although I'm not sure if it can be set up to not require a key press acceptance on the host machine). Or perhaps set up a RAS connection to your home network. Or just wait till it's integrated into v2!
