USBUIRT wont learn codes - BUG?
I have a USB UIRT and it works fine. I tested it with IRhelper. What happens is that the red LED does not blink when SAge is attempting to learn the code. It works before and after the learn mode but not during it. As soon as the "listen" attempt times out the red LED starts working again. I've seen a whole bunch of reports on this but it doesn't seem clear on how to resolve. Any help here is appreciated.

I think this is broken when you run in service mode.

If running in service mode, try making sure the service is configured to log in as the same user being used to run the UI on the desktop.

I have a USB URIT and when I am learning a remote I have to butt the remote right againist the URIT faceplate to learn the code. Even if it didn't detect the code then angle the remote alittle bit pressing the button until SageTV acknowledge it learned it. So if you haven't try learning remote with both of it at a very close range like 1/4 inch apart to butting againist each other then try this and see if works for you. It always a hassle for me to learn some remotes in SageTV but not something i always have to do and probably only do it once a year if I get another STB with remote. Bill

Problem solved
Thanks TechBill,
Your solution worked perfectly. Its funny but I have seen all kinds of posts in different problems about this problem and I couldn't believe all the solutions proposed, none of which worked! In the end it was so simple. A big thank you from Vancouver |

Turn your lights off, that problem is due to the ambient light bouncing around.
