First thing is first. SageTV is awesome. I love it, and if it weren't for it, I'd never watch TV.
Now that's out of the way, these are a couple of recent issues that are extremely annoying. These seem to have cropped up over the last couple of weeks, and now that my SO is beginning to complain more and more about it, it's time to fix it
Problem 1: Sage is cutting almost (and by almost I mean alot of them, my SO uses it more than I do and says that they all do it) every show almost 5 minutes short. I'm not sure why this is happening, as the computer's clock, the clock in SageTV, and the Satellite STB all show the same time. If it makes any difference, my other desktop and my Macbook are all within a minute of the Sage box's clock, and they update automatically from the internet. It does it on both favorite recordings, and while watching live tv, which will re-tune the channel usually with 4-5 minutes left as it does when it's starting the recording for the next show. I don't really want to add a padding in case there's back to back shows that need to be recorded.
Problem 2: This has been happening for the last 2 weeks. about every other or 3rd day, I come home to find the sage box sounding very sick, like the cpu fan was dying. I do a CTRL-ALT-DEL on the sage box and find that there are 2 SageTVTranscoder.exe processes that are both using 50% of the cpu cycles. I end these processes, and the fan spins down, and all is well again. I'm really trying to figure out why this is happening, because it doesn't launch that process when i run placeshifter. Now, after thinking about this while writing, I watch movies that are usually in an .mkv container. Since I haven't figured out how to use these natively in Sage, i've been renaming them to .avi and most play without a hitch, is it possible that those processes are being spawned from that operation and not exiting properly when the movie is done or sage is put to sleep?
Thanks in advance
