Best WHS Solution

I'm running a PVR-250 in a WHS box (Win Server 2003). I travel frequently and would like to be able to remotely access my server and schedule recordings. I would like to either watch these while still on the road, or when I get home.

For this application I have no desire to watch the shows live (or timeshifted). I simply want to record a few shows and watch them from any PC anywhere.

I installed the trial client/server Sage apps and they work fine. I can connect, watch, record, etc... However, I think $100 is a bit overkill for my simple requirements. Plus, I'm not always at a machine with the client...I need the ability to watch the show from ANY PC.

When I try replaying a recorded (by Sage) show back using WMP, the video works great, but no sound. However, the Sage client renders both back just fine.

I've been using Sage since version 2 and love it! I am looking for the best Sage solution where I only need a single product (not multiple) to accommodate my requirements.

The WHS version of SageTV comes with a placeshifter license. I would just use that. If you are running the standard SageTV media center software, then a placeshifter licens is ~$30 I think. I will give you your full SageTV UI on the road. HTH
