Unable to load v1.0 MVPs since 6.3.7 RC

Hello,

I have been having some problems with my v1.0 MVPs (2) not being able to load since upgrading to 6.3.7 RC. Every time I update my Sage server install, I reboot the server and power down each MVP and allowing them to reload the application. I did this over the weekend and my two MVP v1.0 can't reload the application. It seems like they hang during the load of the application.

I also have a STX-1000 and a v2.5 MVP and they don't have any problems loading the application and starting.

I have switched the MVPs segment on the network, powered them down overnight, verified that they can get an IP address and can communicate over the network, find the server, but I can't seem to fix it.

It always hangs during the "loading application" screen.

I have filled a bug report, but was wondering if anyone else had seen this ?

Thanks.

I don't have such an issue with my v1.0 MVP.

My v1.0 MVP runs fine with the latest 6.3.8.

Mine run ok too.

Have you tried deleting the properties files for the mvp's?

where is the properties file stored? my MVPs did the same thing, V1.00 and V1.04, hang at loading application. Eventually (20 minutes) they come up but they can't play back anything. Live TV freezes after about 5 seconds everytime, and imports stutter very bad.

They're in "C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\clients".

Find the files that have the same name as the mac address of your MVP (written on the botton of the unit if you don't know it) and delete them.

I have just one mvp in use at the moment so I have 2 files in there.

000123456789.properties
000123456789.properties.autobackups

Zap them both, and it should create a new file when you start the mvp.

thanks. This didn't help however. I'm assuming I'm suffering from the Vista/MVP problem. Vista on my server, the MVPs load but cannot play liveTV or recordings, they both freeze after about 5 seconds of playback. Imports will play, but have a noticeable stutter.

In another thread someone set their Vista NIC to 100MB and that fixed the issues for them.

Thanks Gerry. I stumbled upon that last night and it did indeed fix the problem. MVP is now snappy and all media plays with no issues.
