Questions after upgrading to an ATI x1650 Pro card

I recently pulled my Nvidia 6200 with 256Mb and replaced it with an ATI x1650 Pro with 512Mb. I've been fighting video quality issues ever since.

I've already gone through the steps of disabling the extra motion processing in the registry and that took care of the "ghosting" but it still does not seem smooth or clear to me compared to what the older Nvidia card was like.

During my first round of troubleshooting, I was able to select the ATI decoder in Sage. That made a noticeable difference at the time. After an upgrade of the Catalyst software and card driver, I no longer have the ATI decoder listed in Sage. It still shows the older Nvidia decoders. For grins, I selected one of those and it made a difference, although still not up to the quality it used to be.

Short of going back to the old card which has already been reallocated, has anyone successfully implemented this video card with Sage and XP?

Thanks.

Looks like nobody has been able to get this card working.

Guess I'll go back to an Nvidia card What a mess.

One of the big reasons to consider an HD Extender. I recently went through the same problem with an ATI x1950 GT. It was the final blow. The pq wasn't significantly better than what an old ATI 9700 provided.

I was thinking about one of those units. My 2 main questions on that are can I still use my URC MX700 remote (I'm assuming yes with some reprogramming) and can you integrate various customized STV's, skins, etc with the extender?

Yes -- see the MX-700 link in my sig for one current solution.

Yes, extenders can use custom STVs. There may be certain features of a customization that aren't avialable on an extender, so check with its topic in the customizations forum.
