Newbie Extender Questions...

Hello...I'm a current Windows MCE user trying to dump it and go to Sage. Before I do though I have some questions that you may be able to assist me with. I'm curious how the extenders work. If I customize my menu's on my main server does the extender reflect those changes? Do the extenders allow for the playback of DVD ISO's? If I setup some sort of DVD Library program on my main server that will show me movie information as well as DVD Cover Pictures, like I currently do in MyMovies with MCE, does this information get carried over to the extender screens? I'm very curious how the extenders work exactly and what my limitations are.

Speaking of DVD Library what is the suggested add-on for this in Sage? Sorry for all of the questions but I couldn't find super clear answers and just wanted to make sure I was going the right direction. Thanks!

All types of clients use STV files to define the UI. You can customize the UI for any client by choosing to use a custom STV.

Whether a downloadable customization fully works on an extender depends on whether it does anything special that works only on a PC, so you would have to check the customization(s) you are interested in.

Forgive my ignorance here but what is STV?

An "STV" file is the file that defines what the UI looks like and what features it has. They used to have a file extension of .stv, but now it is .xml. They are the files that can be edited using Studio to modify the interface.
