Maybe you are using Unicode text for that language & there is a problem using that format for translations?

If the file is Unicode, try making a change in a non-Unicode version to see if that change shows up. If that's the issue, contact SageTV to report that problem.

Sorry i don't understand., i use the SageTv Studio to Generate the file, so what do you meen in Unicode file?

I just updated the file that was Generated by sage.

I think that the problem is that Sage cannot recognize my translation file name, on my system.

Is there a way to check what is the file that SageTv looks for?

Thanks

But, what are you using to edit the customized translation file? Is that saving it in Unicode format?

You already said the log didn't complain about not finding the file when it was there, so it sounds like it can find it.

It looks like I forgot to document part of this in the Studio manual, or else I missed it while reading it just now...

Check this translation document. See if the section called "NOTE For double byte character sets" helps.

If the log wasn't complaining about not finding it like you said it did when you removed the file, then it found it.

Try contacting SageTV because I don't know what else might be missing.

Apparently java doesn't like the language code of 'he' for Hebrew. Use 'iw' instead of 'he' and it should fix your problems. (Use it for the property and in the filenames)

Do you have any idea how to solve that?

When I had to get a different language's characters to show up, I set this property:
ui/use_texture_maps_for_3d_text=false

A newer one you could try is:
ui/load_complete_glyph_maps=true

Most of the fonts used are Arial, set via the <some prefix>_font_face properties. If you need to, you could change the fonts via those properties.

If none of those do it, maybe someone else has that working already... otherwise contact SageTV again.

ui/use_texture_maps_for_3d_text=false
ui/load_complete_glyph_maps=true

But nothing, i don't use UTF-8 for the translation because i saw that it is not working.

And i have try to play with the font's in my properties files, and it is not working .

what i cant understand is why the Dynamic Customizable Menu from nilem, let me use Hebrew with out any problem, but other menu and stuff inside Sage not.

You must use UTF-8 for the translation file or it will not work.
That is why when using the dynamic menus rename it works - because it's in UTF-8 automaticaly.

It seems that you've already figured this out, but for others looking for this info, there is a link to instructions for translation of Sagetv to other languages on the Sagetv configuration page.

I've used them to add Japanese language support to my Sagetv.

Here's a link the the page:

http://sagetv.com/2_papers/i18n.txt

One tip that's not included in the instructions--using a text editor to modify and save your files will make it simple to choose UTF-8 encoding if you need it.

Good luck

Steve
