MVP DVD aspect ration?

Are there any aspect ratio adjustments within SageTV for the MVP??

When watching a backed-up DVD the picture "sure is small" compared to our 42" LG LCD TV's size. We can expand/zoom the picture on the LG, so all is not lost.

Has anyone upgraded there MVP for the HD Extender??
Does the HD Extender address the "aspect ratio" issue above.

Our 3 MVP's have served us very well!!! (PAID $40 at Radio Shack).

Thanks

I'm confused... I have 4 MVPs and 1 HD Extender - and I've never seen backed-up DVDs change aspect ratios or size from the original. Are you sure you backed it up properly?

To answer your question, the Extender seems to have more aspect ratio flexibility than the MVP... but to be honest I've never needed them except for the occasional TV show... definitely not my DVDs.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

I don't personally own an HDTV but I do own an HD Extender. The Zoom options are fabulous! I can now watch pillarboxed HD video full screen so I don't get the black border around the video from both letterboxing and pillarboxing.

That being said, since you have an HDTV the HD Extender should display all video correctly without you needing to adjust the TV's zoom. The only place where you might have to adjust zoom on the extender would be if you're watching a letterboxed DVD or if you're one of those weird people that likes to watch 4x3 video filling the 16x9 screen.
