Help: Can't watch/pause live TV with MVP
I must be missing something really basic here, but I couldn't find any information in the faq, manual, or this forum.
I've just purchased SageTV with a dual tuner along with a couple of SD (MVP) NTSC extenders - all purchased from Sage for use in the U.S. My problem is that I'm not able to watch/pause live TV using the extender on a remote TV as advertised on the Sage web site. In addition, I do not see the same SageTV interface, but rather one for the Hauppauge extender. My understanding is that I should have the same SageTV interface on remote TVs when using the MVP. With the MVP, I'm able to connect with the PC where SageTV is running. I'm able to watch recorded media (video and audio so far). The SageTV app also works fine with the dual tuner. I have registered both licenses as described in the manual, although I'm only using one of the two purchased MVPs so far. I bought the MVPs so I could use remote TVs to view live content, rather than just replay of recorded content. Any Thoughts? Thanks. |

See p. 254 of the SageTV PDF manual (and the rest of Appendix M) for a list of instructions to use an MVP with SageTV. It starts with not using the Hauppauge software, as mentioned above.

I stupidly followed the MVP instructions to install the Hauppauge app since this also came from Sage. I figured that the installation guidance was coordinated with that for the Sage product - silly me. I'm all set now after the following: 1. Shut down SageTV app. 2. Powered down MVP client box. 3. Uninstalled Hauppauge app. 4. Restart SageTV app. 5. Power up MVP client box. All is well. Thanks for such a quick response from both of you. |
