View Closed Caption recorded by SageTV on external players?

Is there any external players that will display Closed Caption from recording made by SageTV?

So far I tried PowerDVD and WinDVD and VLC Lan but they all don't display Closed Caption in their player or the closed caption enable option is greyed out.

I manged to get Closed Caption working in mplayer however there no gui function and I was hoping for a player to put on my laptop to watch recorded shows from SageTV.

I am already aware that I could extract and save smi and play it as a subtitle etc but I wanted to see if I can find a player that will play closed caption directly from mpeg file itself.

Any players capable of displaying Closed Caption from mpeg recorded by SageTV?

My system spec is shown in my signature below.

Thank you
Bill

I don't have SageTV installed at the moment but,

If you could upoad a short sagetv recorded clip (That you know has CC data) I will check the different Codec that I have Closed Captions working with.

Two options which have worked well for me so far; Special version of FFDShow which has CC support embeded, and custom graph created with an Arcsoft closed caption codec.

Example;

CC embeded version of FFDShow found here;

I have a small video file that does have analog CC embedded in it.

If that works, I could also do a recordings with digital CC in it.

Cool. Maybe that'll do what Bill needs. I'll do up a digital caption tonight for a test clip.

Your digital clip shows as 19 seconds, but only plays for 1/2 second. Could you post a longer clip?

The graph in post #2 was for ATSC recordings from a FusionHDTV card in XP and worked well.

I "munged up" the link because some forums don't allow direct links.
