HD Extender Randomly Turning Off

The last couple days I've had a lot of problems with my MVP randomly deciding to go into standby. This has occurred with the current and the previous version of firmware. One thing I have noticed is that I'm always doing something with the remote when it happens- either fast forwarding or going through menus. Is there something wrong with my extender or are the IR signals getting confused?

Has this been happening to anyone else?

I think I have seen the same thing. I concuded that when I went for the skip fwd 2, I was hitting video out instead. I have unlinked the video out and have not seen any problems since.

Mine has been doing this as well, it seems to do it mostly when I try and play a video it doesnt like.

THe other thing it is doing is giving me the circle of death every once and a while, I can look at the log on the server and see that it is hanging, then after a minute or two it will recover.

I have turned off any customizations and gone back to the default stv to make sure I am not introducing issues by using the MC stv.

I'm also getting this. It occurs when I fast forward video (mine or recorded with SageTV) and if I'm jumping through the guide. I am using SageMC.

Mine did it three times this evening.

Namely when using the FF-Jump button.

I have logging turned on, so I will have to pay attention to the time the next time it occurs and see if anything is in the log file.

I see it every now and then as well. I think it happens when I skip forward while watching a recorded show.

Happening with me also. It's maddening trying to jump through the Viking / Redskins game tonight. On one hand, I'm pissed the way the Vikings are playing so I'm hitting the skip button trying to find a decent play and then Sage blanks out on me adding insult to it all. AARGH!!

Same here. It happened a few times before the firmware upgrade but much more frequently now.

I have had this happen several times as well with the firmware update on 20011221 1. I was only listening to MP3's and the extender shut off several times...starting to get a little aggravated with this thing. Already having more problems with it than I ever did with the MVP..

I saw this for the first time last night. I hit the 10s skip 3 or 4 times, then missed it and the record button (above) and the HD extender went into standby.

This was not repeatable.

I've seen it cycling through the Aspects. About on the 5th or 6th button press it just goes off.

Just received my unit today, and did a firmware update, as recommended.

This is happening to me when I skip/FF and when I use the Delete button on the remote... it has happened 4 times today, in about 40 minutes of use...

Is there an official response to this issue?

Same issue here after installedin 20071221 fireware a few days ago. Mostly with the FF/skip buttons. I also have had the video playback stop and I see the top half of the video (with black horiz lines) and the bottom half just black. A power cycle of the extender gets it back up and running.
