SageClient on Vista (Video Studder)

I'm trying to determine if my system is not up to par to use SageTVClient.
Take a look at my sig.
I installed Vista, with an additional 1GB of ram
When it was on XP, it would play pretty good using overlay
In Vista, the video studders/freezes, while the audio track keeps playing.
As I understand it, there are no 3rd party mpeg decoders (Purevideo) to install on Vista.
CPU usuage is high when playing video.

How are you Vista users making out with smooth playback
I suspect the video card, due to the lack of the Purevideo decoder.
What video cards are you using?

Thanks

I tried disabling it a few days ago, but it didn't help much (if at all).
Today after I created the topic, I decided to change the theme to Windows Standard (in effect disabling Aero).
That seemed to make the biggest difference so far.
I'll try disabling SuperFetch again, to see if it improves the situation.

What codec are you using? The MSFT one? The 6600 isn't all that wlel supported under vista from a video driver perspective. I think under xp and purevideo it should be ok though.

thx
mike

Thats what I'm figuring.
At this point, I think it may be my best move to retire the PC to PC duties, and get an HD Extender when it becomes available again...
