Question Issues with the Hauppauge remote after a driver update

I just updated the drivers for my PVR-350, following the instructions on the Hauppauge website. I had it uninstall everything, and then I reinstalled everything I thought I would need... forgetting the IR driver.

So, of course it didn't work in Sage. So, I went and installed the IR driver, restarted just for good measure, started up Sage, and it still won't work. Is there anything I can do short of re-installing Sage and re-telling it to use the Hauppauge remote on install to get it working again? And, if not, what's the best way to go about saving my recorded programs and my favorites? Can I just reinstall on top of what I already have, and it'll work, or do I have to back up certain files (as well as the recorded video files) and uninstall Sage?

Edit: also, the remote works fine in other applications, so it's just Sage that is giving me issues.

You probably lost the Remote Control mappings for SageTV and SageRecorder. Look at the Hauppauge Remote Control mappings for SageTV and SageRecorder and make sure the mappings are in your Irremote.ini file. This file is probably in C:\WINDOWS otherwise you may have to search for it. IF they are not in the file you should add them, then use the "Restart IR" program.

You can also go into "Add or Remove Programs", click on Sage TV, then click for support information. This will give you a repair option which may repair the irremote.ini file. Before you do that you probably should make a backup copy of your properties and wiz files so you do not lose the data they contain. If they are modified by the repair you can restore them before starting SageTV.

I always keep a backup copy of my irremote.ini file to avoid problems like this.

Thanks for the response.

That link you posted looks like nothing I see in my irremote.ini file... I don't understand what format or where I need to put those mappings in.

Also, I tried to repair my installation and it didn't fix it that way either.

Can I just copy and paste what I see in that link into my irremote.ini file at the bottom and hope it works, or what?

Edit: scratch that, I don't know if it was there before I did the repair or not, but I now see some mappings under the SageTV heading in the irremote.ini file... it's not entirely straight forward to me, but I'm looking at it.

Alrite, I got it working again, I think I just needed to use the Restart IR program after repairing the installation... or perhaps that's all I had to do at all, since for all I know I could have just missed the Sage mappings in irremote.ini before the repair.

Thanks for your help.
