I want to "force" hidden channels to be visible

I know people have been asking for channel lineup control per tuner for a while now.... which I am looking for too.

But the complaint I have is that some (as SageTV considers) duplicate channels will not show in the guide. For example, I have DSC ch 3 (discovery channel) and I have DSC ch 202 (discovery channel as well), but ch 202 is hidden and I am unable to schedule recordings on this channel thru the guide.

I record backups of most things, just in case (ie. a tuner doesn't tune correctly or the video gets corrupted, etc). I recently wanted to record a backup of Planet Earth but like I said ch 202 was not showing up... I have perused the forum and have not found a way to "force" these hidden channels to show up, all I could find is the way SageTV doesn't show duplicate channels... I want all these duplicate channels to show in the guide!

Any one have any thoughts on this? a fix maybe? can the SageTV developers consider making this possible?

Issues: 1 PVR250 not working, system board?

The SageTV EPG is based on the 'Station ID', not on a channel Number. The Guide is 'consolidated' to show the Station ID only once. If the station shows up twice on the same tuner (Analog and Digital simulcast) then some users will 'disable' the analog channel so only the digital version is picked up.

Currently, there is no way to 'show' all the 'duplicate' stations in a lineup.

I wonder, since the feature request thread is so long, if the developers would consider making it an option in the software for those of us who want this based off poll results in addition to a feature request?

Really it would be an automatic option to users who don't want duplicate channels, since they can just turn the channels of in the channel setup screen.

Go ahead and add your voice to the Sage 7.0 Wishlist thread. You never know, other users may want the same feature.

reboot-

Are you saying that these channels are on different tuners but have the same station ID, and that in spite of the fact that your system could record both channels at the same time you can't because of a limitation in Sagetv?

I just installed the XMLTV import plugin, and it would appear that you can configure duplicate channels in it, and that you can custom configure multiple lineups that then appear in the source setup dialogs of sagetv. configure that idea is refered to in the quick start doc for the program. Whether sagetv will see them is a different matter.

Also, on the OTA lineups the digital channels have different IDs than the analog ones even though the schedules are the same. Is it different on cable or satellite?
