Question COMCAST Motorola DCT2244 serial port control

Has anyone here gotten the serial port to work with Comcast Motorola DCT2244 digital cable box and firmware version 7.54.
Is it possible to control this box with Sage? Ideally I would like to be able to set sage to record and for it to set the channel on the cable box and record without having to manually access the digital cable box.
TIA
Patrick

PS. I am seriously considering purchasing this software but a lack of serial access to my cable box would be a problem to me.

What I am not understanding with that thread is, do I need Girder? Or should SageTV app work to change the channels as long as I have the ocx file inthe sage folder? Quite lost with how this could work?
Someone should really do a guide to this, I read many threads on this setup but I either have a box that the serial port is not enabled on or I am doing something really wrong.
HELP!
Patrick

COMCAST won't enable the serial port for you, it's already been tried. You'll have to go with a USB-UIRT, which works quite well...

So would Sage 1.4 change channels without any extra plugins if the serial port was enabled?

So where can I get the dct.exe plugin? I only see it mentioned in the previous discussion, the link at the top of that page is broken and does not work.
So where do I get dct.exe?
Thanks for all the help
