Two cable boxes, IR control...

Hi all,
I have successfully gotten Sage TV working with two PVR 250s and 2 cable boxes which are being controlled by 2 IR-200Ls. I am using Sage Recorder to control the second IR-200L, as required. I was wondering whether the USB-UIRT requires the use of Sage Recorder as well, or if, since the USB-UIRT is controlled via USB, I could just control 2 of them (and thus 2 cable boxes) from within SageTV alone.

Thanks!

I hope someone can answer this.

But I will know in about week as I ordered a USB UIRT and a Actisys IR-200L and will have multiple cable Boxes at that point as well.

John

My idea would be to do independently up to 4 IR Transmitter output port on one device each IR out on there own ID output port addressing like let say 1 though 4 which should allow for use of one IR code and multiple IR codes be used on each port independently though each wired emitters eye for thoses can't do what the dish receiver box can do, I think this would be a better way to do it but I'm not sure there anything like this or leavse no had build one that I know of.

According to Dan, the president, SageTV can only control one IR Tuner.
So even if you have a Actisys IR-200L and a USB UIRT you will need to use Sagerecorder for one of them.

I use SageTV with two DirecTV Hughes receivers and one Actisys IR-200L. I used the Hughes remote to program one of the receivers to respond to remote code 2. Then I installed into SageTV and created a new codeset.

I tried with two separate IR-200L, but had to isolate the receivers so they would not "see" each other. The single IR-200L works much better.

Both receivers have the same channel line-up. This allows me to watch Live TV while recording, or to record two programs at the same time. Works great for me.
