No MVP playback for most of the new Online Content

Most of the SageTV new Online content does not playback on the MVP. When I try to playback most of the new online content, I get the following error message:

Video does not have MPEG4, FLV, or AVI file type.

Here are some specifics. Using SageTV version 6.3.3.157, click on "Online Service", "News Content", "NBC Today Show". Then the error message displays.

The new SageTV Online content does playback on the computer monitor.

Is there a solution to playback the new SageTV Online content on the MVP?

I think you might not be using the latest STV on your MVP. Check that.

That was the problem! My MVP was setup to use SageTV3-3.xml (version 6.2.8.1 September 7, 2007) instead of using the current verision, SagTV3.xml (version 6.3.3.0 November 29, 2007).

After I made the change, then I can watch the new Online content.

The SageTV GUI response is a bit slow on the computer screen. Its a bit like the Windows fade effect, where the navigation is a bit slow. I alway turn off fade effects in Windows, because I didn't buy a fast computer to add extra waiting time. Maybe there is a configuration for eliminating that waiting time on the computer screen.

The response time of the wired MVP unit seems to be noticeably faster with the new beta version 6.3.3.
