DVB-S DiSEqC Support?

I have only just noticed that the release notes for "SageTV V6.3.0 Beta 11/2/2007" claims under "Windows Updates" point 7: "Add DiSQEC and LNB support for DVB-S". Does anybody know how to enable this or can point me in the direction of some documentation? Many thanks.

I created the Hauppauge WinTV 88x Capture-0.lnb file as described in this thread.

I didn't use the patch they are discussing, but just created that file and I was able to do a few test scans and it found the channels.

I haven't spent alot of time on it yet, but it is getting there...

-Robert

PS - I am using a HP Nova-S Plus, so I don't know if this works on other cards...

If you are wanting some sort of response from Sage, have you tried a Support Request?

I submitted a support request, and was told that while the backend work was done to support diseqc setups, that the UI has not been updated to include the necessary screens to configure them, but that they should be included in a future update???

Seems like sort of a weird response, because how could you test them without implementing the setup screens?

But, I guess we'll have to wait a little longer to see this working.

It's any ones guess, but I suspect that the next release (7.0?) could have it.

Also, DISEQC is not in place for all DVB-S cards.

This is my first time I use SageTV and from what I learned from MT and other STBs/DVBs, I tried these configurations and it did NOT work. When I run

Scan I Get 0,0 channels. In MT I get over 1000 channels. Does anyone know how to get Sage to work with 8 LNBs?

DiSEqC ports: are in TOS1 and TOS2
Port 1=AA (TOS1=A TOS2=A)
Port 2=AB (TOS1=A TOS2=B)
Port 3=BA (TOS1=B TOS2=A)
Port 4=BB (TOS1=B TOS2=B)

LOF1 = Lo MHz for LNB
LOF2 = Hi MHz for LNB
LOF SW = Switch (0=22K off, 11700=22K on) that is how MT uses it

Here is an update. After I left it to scan and test I got the following channels in the frq file. But it only scan the first LNB and did not switch to the other 3. Any idea on how to make it switch?

There's no chance you will be able to do 8 LNBs.

Depending on your DVB-S card, SageTV may or may not support DISEQC 1.0 (ie, 4 LNBs).

There are very few DVB-S cards for which SageTV supports DISEQC.

Your best bet is to contact support with your card and let them check to see if they support DISEQC for it.

Thank you for the feedback, without Diseqc support this product will not work for me. I am now playing with MT plug-in to SageTV and I think this will solve the problem.
As far as my [Twinhan DVB-S PCIe AD-SE200] it is working fine with MT and 4 LNBs Diseqc support (some problems with the 22K switch 8 LNBs support because my 22K switch is before the Diseqc switch) just limiting me to 4 LNBs ~~sometimes. I just need to find the correct Diseqc commands (SW= 12200-On, 12700-Off or 11700-On, 0-Off)
For now Sage DVB-S needs lots of work to match what others are doing like MP
HS,
