BTV vs Sage features help

I am trying to go from BTV to Sage and want to know a couple of things. When BTV was recording, it showed a little recording symbol in the task bar to let you know if you had it minimized. Is there a similar feature in Sage to do this? Also, is there a way to be able to select a program in the program guide and not have it constantly ask me if I want to play, record, etc... to it. I want it to be able to go to that show as soon as I click it and not pop up another menu. I have had many problems trying to get my OnAir GT to work properly with the Sage, but not having much success. I have posted in the beta and hardware forums, but I might post here as well. Many lock ups and instabilities.

You canminimize SageTV to an icon in the system tray, if that is what you mean. When not in service mode, the icon can indicate it is recording. For a client, I think there was a customization to get more info frmo a tray icon - check the customizations forum's sticky for possibilities.

It depends on what you want to do -- there are several commands you can use directly on an airing, such as Play, Info, Watched, Don't Like, Favorite, etc.

I will look at that thread. Also, is there a feature that will allow me to look at signal strength on screen while I am watching a show?. It seems that while using the OnAir GT software I can see the Signal Strength on screen and figure out if a bad picture is due to strength or other problems. Using my OnAir software the pictue is great and strength is fine. Using the Sage software give me weak strength frequently. I can see the red light come on my OnAir GT indicating weakness every few seconds. In the channel setup screen, it shows 100% signal strength even though it keeps dropping out. As far as the program guide goes, I want to be looking at the guide, see a show that I want to watch, and then click it once to have it go to that show. I don't want to have the other menu pop up, just go straight to the show.
My system is:

Win XP sp2, updated
E6600
2 GB Ram
Nvidia 7950 GT video card
Sage 6.2.10 14 days left

All drivers updated

I don't think the signal strength indicator is available during normal watching. Does BTV have this feature? I don't remember.

As for the program guide, by default, clicking on a show in the guide with your mouse will bring up a menu. I'm not sure if its possible to change this default behavior. As an alternative, pressing the keys Ctrl+D will send the "Play" command and it'll play the current highlighted show in the guide. So I guess you can customize the "Play" command to a mouse button, maybe middle click or other buttons if you have one of those 5 button mice.
