Should I upgrade Java on the sage server?
I have a system that is dedicated to just being a sage server. All it does is record and serve videos recordings, and music. Should I upgrade to the latest java? Will it matter since I don't play recordings on this system?

A large portion of SageTV is written in Java, or uses the Java library to deal with schedules and time.
If you are not experiencing any issues with your current Java version then you can leave it be. Personally, I love to diagnose things (no, not really) so I leave EVERYTHING set on automatic update and then have fun figuring out why the computer blew up this time. I'm strange that way. [ Oh, look, the handles are a bit high AND JVM heap is 45/118... though it could be I added commercial skip last month...  ] I am doomed.
