5. Disabled use of Left/Right to toggle display of detailed show info as part of the OSD.

Does anyone know if there's a way to reverse this? When there's a large description my view of the program is rather obscured

I second that. I use this feature quite a bit.

I barely use it, but it still struck me as a little odd that it was removed. ... Im guessing < and > were wanted for something else...

For now, you can change it in Studio... search for this line:

"REM Toggle OSD's Detailed info, when appropriate"

Expand the widget tree below that action widget. You'll see one Branch widget containing trueX -- change it to true (i.e.: just remove the X).

But, there is no guarantee that the code will remain in the STV in the future, especially if the left/right arrows get used for something else.

Well can you at least give us the option to totally disable it.. if desired? I usually just read the info before playing if I want to... but sometimes it takes up a lot of rel-estate... and I wind up rewinding a lot.

I like the fact that this was disabled. The comskip import uses the left/right buttons to skip comercial blocks and everytime I wanted to toggle the detailed info it also did an unwanted skip.

S, what version of the comskip import are you using?
The current version can be customized to
- not skip, but toggle the info panel if it is being displayed
- skip, but not toggle the info panel if it is being displayed
- set the default for whether the info panel has detailed info or not

Personally I would prefer the detailed info and the left and right NOT toggle the info display. What I would like it to do is when the info button is pressed a second time while the reduced display is visible - the expanded info is then displayed. Press info button a third time and it disappears. An alternate to the expanded info that I would like even more would be to go to the "Detailed Info" menu when you press info while the reduced box is displayed. This then frees up the left/right buttons for comskip or other items.
