Split Video files

I posted about the issue of split video files about 6 months ago, and I was told it was a known issue in certain versions of 6.1 (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...ht=split+file), but it was fixed in the latest version of 6.1, well I upgraded and didn't see the issue for awhile, but then I recently started seeing it again, and with 6.2 I see it more often. Does anyone know of a resolution to this issue, or what causes it?

In case someone isn't familiar with the issue I'm talking about, it's where a recording is split in to multiple files with the filename structure <Filename><number incrementing from 0>. What happens is that some data is lost when the transitions occur, and you can not fast forward, rewind the video, if you try it just starts the video from the beginning.

Thanks for any help.

Noticed this week that a recording with 2 files wouldn't play at all.

I am getting this quite regularly at the moment. I wonder if it is because of the weather since it can affect signal quality. Personally I would like Sage to record the stream, errors and all and then allow me to decide if I want to try and watch it. Of course it could be that it is a driver / hardware issue with something giving up because of errors.

I actually finally found out what was happening. It was actually due to a Windows error in the SMB subsystem when writing out to a network drive. I don't understand why, but you might want to look for the following errors in your system log.

{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Device\LanmanRedirector. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

After buying a cheap 500 Gig HDD and connecting it locally the problem went away. I searched on MS and google, but could not find anything that applied to my scenario.

I am not getting any file system problems, which I have to say I am glad about!
