Sage non-functional- cannot start, kill, or disable service

another unsuccessful late nighter. Sagetvservice does not start cleanly, and hangs the taskbar and start menu, prevents sage from starting and keeps me from accessing the internet. i cannot kill it with the task manager, cannot stop,start, or disable it with its own control program, cannot disable in manage-> services, cannot disbale it in msconfig. All of these programs hang if i do anything.

I think this started when i was forced to set up user accounts to do the batch files for backup purposes. how do i fix this, as I basically have a paperweight at the moment?

Start your PC in SAFE MODE

To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

(Make a backup of your entire /SageTV directory (SageTVBKUP), and UNINSTALL SAGETV. REBOOT normally.

Check to see if your system is not functional. If so, reinstall SageTV from the setup.exe file. Reboot and test as a Service. If this continues to work as expected then Shutdown SageTV and the Service;

COPY your Wiz.bin and 'SageTV.properties' files into the /SageTV/SageTV directory. Check your tuning sources, favorites, etc. Retest as a service.
