SageTV and Charter Digital?
I've googled around, and looked for about two days, but I can't find a definitive yes or no on this question.
I'd really like to build a homebrew DVR, but I don't want to waste the money if it's not going to synch up with current service. Thanks in advance? |

what's the question? That you can use SageTV with Charter Digital? Yes, you can. However, there are questions that you need to ask yourself? Do you want to capture the digital channels in digital format, or is it ok to just record the output of your cablebox in analog format?
If you record in analog format, you will only get SD quality, no HD. But if the most important thing is to just be able to record all the channels, then that may be good enough. But if you must be able to record digitally in the original format to get HD, then your options are reduced. You can record some digital channesl via a QAM tuner, or you can try firewire capturing off of a cable box (may get some, none, or all digital channels you pay for), or you can modify a cable box with the R5000HD mod to get all paid digital channels.
