Nvidia 5200 TV output problems

After a few driver issues, I was able to get the S-video OUT on my Gainward GeForce FX5200 256 to display on my TV. When booting up, the picture on the TV is distorted but then the TV matches my monitor exactly when the Win XP boot screen comes up. Once the XP log-in screen appears, it looks as if the TV is displaying the lowest possible resolution and none of the colors match what's on my monitor. The display is barely viewable. I've been looking for settings to improve the display but can't seem to find any that actually help. Any ideas? Thanks!

I found the setting to clone the primary display to the TV-OUT (This corrected the color issue and a little of the resolution) but the output is about 6 inches bigger on all sides then my TV screen. Is it the resolution? What is the best resolution for Sage? Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks!

I just ran Sage and found that the video isn't displaying on my TV. (The actual output from my Satellite) It shows up fine on my monitor and windows displays fine on my TV, including the Sage software, but no video when I run Live television. I also don't get video on my TV when I run the WIN TV app. Does this have something to do with the overlay on my secondary video output?

Overlay generally only works on 1 display at at time. Try changing the video renderer to Default.

Other than that, I don't have much experience with TV out.

Thanks Stranger! Changing to default worked. This solved the video issue.

The picture is still larger then my TV. If I move the mouse to the edge of the tv screen, it displays a few more inches to the left, right, top and bottom. How do I get the picture to fit the TV screen. I have the aspect ratio set to fill.

The last problem is the quality of the picture. Right now it's pretty bad. I've read that some people were able to tweek some setting to improve the nvidia 5200 FX but I have failed to locate them.

Once again, Thanks!

Sounds like your desktop resoulution is too high and the TV out is doing virtual desktop. Try dropping it to 1024x768 at the most. Actually running at 720x480 might give you the best PQ. I've also heard that TVtool might be useful. I'm pretty much just guessing here, going from what I remember reading here.

Thank you, you've pretty much solved all of my problems! I set the resolution to 600 x 800 and it looks just about perfect. The only tiny problem is the sides of the picture contort slightly while the video plays. Not a big deal. Thanks again Stranger!
