New icons in Sage 6.2
I just upgraded to Sage 6.2 from 6.019. Is there any way to turn off those icons on the side of the Recordings screen? They add a lot of clutter and are really annoying.

I think Andy mentioned in another thread that the next release will let you remove those options from the screen.

I'd like to see these gone as well and maybe bring back the yellow folders instead of the blue ones, but thats getting nitpicky. Everything runs as smooth as ever.

I guess I'm the only one who likes the icons on the side; to be honest, however, I rarely use them. Most of them are for options, which once configured, I never change.

I would prefer them to be on the right side instead of the left. When I go into a folder it requires an extra keystoke to get past them and back out of the folder view using the left arrow.

I'm fine with the icons, but wish they are customizable so I can put the buttons that I use most often there. Links to Back button, Video Browser, Search Tool, and Recording schedules are not important to me. I rather have a delete, convert, archive, play all, etc. buttons. The point is to have it customizable so the user can put whatever button that are useful to them there.

Guys, a blue folder on a blue background just dosent cut it! Who the heck thought of this? Also, get an option so that we can remove the small tiny icons on the left and top that CANNOT be read on a regular size TV. One last thing. Who the heck thought of making the marker when you scroll to see recordings light blue on a blue background? Anyone awake? |

I'm going to jump in here too and voice my opposition to the tiny icons on the left of the screen. I guess I'm not overly opposed to having them, but they're just blobs of pixels on all of my televisions and frankly, they're in the way. If it's absolutely necessary to have them, about about putting them on the right side?
Also, I'm not a big fan of the new options on the top of the screen. I've tried to get used to them, but they seem rather pointless. Sure, it's nice having the archives option right there but in my house, we're not flipping back and forth between recorded and archived all that often. Finally, what happened to searching by genre? is it hiding somewhere outside of the search feature? I think the old UI was more television appropriate. Any chance we can have an option to use that instead? |

I agree - I liked the old view (yellow folders) the best. I don't need those options across the top either. This is the first time I've felt tempted to ditch the default STV. Most of the other stuff I'm used to.
