Picture WAY blocky and jittery

Installed latest on my system:
ASUS P4 2.4G HT
1G memory
NVidia 4400TI
PVR350
PVR250
Hitachi RPTV

Picture is very blocky and jittery. Bottom 1/8th of the screen is torn off looking. What am I missing here?

Sounds like the 350/250 incompatibility problem...

I agree with Tom's post. You should also refer to the Mixed Hauppauge Card bug - Example. That thread provides an actual screen image of the problem and the conditions that the problem occurs. If you do have the problem and a network, you can work around the problem by putting the 350 card in a different system. Otherwise, you will have to use my manual initialization routine which the thread Tom mentioned above has a link too.

I will try rippin one card out and see if it changes things. Thanks for the replies and pointers to threads, I will update this thread when I get results. Is this mixed card thing being addressed in 2.0?

Before you remove a card I would suggest you try the manual initialization method described in Possible initialization problem with multi-tuner cards . It worked for me for a while, I may now have other problems with the card that caused me to pull it. Several other people here are using that method. You will need to do that on each reboot.

Frey is aware of the problem but no idea at this time when or if it will be fixed. Last official word from frey was that they thougt it was a motherboard type problem, but working with Hauppauge. Only 1 user has posted that he was running with no problems, shorty after posting he needed to reboot and encountered the problem. Frey themselves do not see the problem, which makes a fix difficut to come up with.

Re-initializing didnt help, but it is a problem in snapstream also with both cards. Looks like a mix problem but worse or different than others. Pulled the 250 out and all works well. Switched to snapstream (beyondTV) till frey/hauppaug gets a fix for this. If I can run only one card I might as well go with the software with the eye candy, beyond is way sweet with its animations. If Sage had the 350 output workin I would have opted that route, but since the OSD isnt working yet I dont consider the tvout working.
Thanks for the replies and help, I'll be back when 2.0 is ready for prime time, since I consider sage the stronger player in the long run.
