serial control of directv

I can control my directv receiver with dtvcon without a problem. however using the 'serial control' option in sage, it does not want to work. i'm using an rca receiver with low speed data, the model number escapes me, but i will pull it out if it is believed to be needed information.

i'm using a pvr-250 with the hauppage remote. any idea's or suggestions on this problem?

fyi, if i open dtvcon while sagetv is running, i get a 'serial port already opened' error message. so that means to me that sage is in fact trying to send commands through the serial port, but possible the commands are not recognized?

You probably have a newer receiver that uses a different (APG) serial protocol. Email frey support directly and they should be able to give you an update that supports the newer protocol.
