anyone have a wireless mvp working?
What's the consensus here? Is it worth a shot, given that you can always wire it up?

My wireless MVP worked fine last time I tried it. But I no longer use either my wired or wireless MVP because VISTA broke TCP/IP standards.
I believe the people that have problems with the wireless MVP are going through a router. If you do not have a router on the network that the MVP uses it will probably work fine. I believe there are some routers that also allow the MVP to work properly, so it may be worth a try if you can afford the expense.

My experience; the 'wireless' part of the wireless MVP is not so hot, reception and throughput was dicey at best, and unusable in general. Once I plugged in a wireless ethernet client - all worked well.

yep, that's starting to sound like a consensus. I might give it a go, can always "re-bay" it later. But at least my expectations will be properly low!

be sure your wireless router has all the non-standard modes turned off, such as frame bursting and turbo-whammo.

Don't expect it to have great range.
