different volume levels on different cards
I have 2 hauppauge 150's and a 350 in a linux server box. i'm using a wired media extender as my frontend. for some reason, the volume levels of recordings and live tv are drastically different depending on which card was used. i mean they are way off. if i keep sage at full volume, i have to put my tv volume at ~50 for one tuner and ~25 for the other for them to be roughly the same. any chance there's a way to fix this?
i haven't tested to see if it's a difference between the 150's and the 350 or not. also, i wasn't sure if this was a hardware thing or a software issue. if anyone has any insight, i would appreciate any help. thanks. |

I mainly use reclock
Hello,
I mainly use reclock to normalize the volume when playing back videos. http://reclock.free.fr/ Reclock is a directshow filter which will help to sync video and audio and has the option to normalize audio. For regular stereo recordings I've found this to be the simplest. I'm not sure how it would work on an extender though (been waiting for that HD one). On the SHSPVR forum I can remember posts about a utility that would work with certain driver betas that you could set the AGC (automatic gain control) levels on some Hauppauge cards. http://www.shspvr.com/ Hope this helps, Bobby
