Sage 6.2 killed my MVP?

Hi,

I upgraded sage to 6.2 from 6.1 yesterday.

I unplugged one of my MVPs and watched it go through the normal sequence loading application and then the screen went blank.

I tried then unplugging the MVP and plugging it in again.

Result is the MVP only doesn't get beyond the initial screen with the 5 "block" progress bar stalling at the last "block"

I've reverted to 6.1 but my MVP continues to do the same thing on power up.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Michael

Try removing the clients folder in your sage directory (backup clients folder first). That should work. Also make sure when you unplug the power from the mvp you leave it out for about 30 seconds or so.

MVP died here too

Funny thing, this just happened at a friend's house... The wireless MVP had sync issues and I unplugged/plugged it, now it just sticks at the last bar.

I don't see any way Sage did this, it just sounds like a problem with the MVP (and this one is out of warranty). The MVP doesn't even request a download until much later in the boot.

In my case, I probably shouldn't have unplugged it at the back of the unit, best to unplug the wall wart. After trying repeatedly, I unplugged it and left it that way. I will try again later tonight to see if I owe my friend a new MVP.

It did seem hot, maybe after a long cool down it will recover.

All ok now

Tried again last night.

I left the MVP unplugged all day yesterday.

This morning it was fine - needed to take no action other than plug it in.

Will try 6.2 again tonight.

MVPs can be fussy about large upgrades. Usually when upgrading sage I:

1) Completely unplug MVPs.
2) Remove MVP preferences from server
3) Upgrade Sage
4) Plug MVPs in one by one

That usually works.

Glad to hear yours is working also....

I still wonder if I should unplug it via the back of the unit or the wall wart.

I have been having issues with MVP/6.2 as well. For me the setup works fine if I run the sage server in the GUI mode. If I run the service I cannot get the MVP to connect. I had no issues with previous version. Not sure why this is happening. I am going to try a clean install to see if this addresses the issue.
