Loaded stv instead of imported, and now my MVP won't start
So I was using sageMCE as the STV on my MVP, and was messing with the caption stv. I foolishly told it to LOAD the stv (presumably replacing SageMCE) instead of importing it. The MVP locked up, and I had to pull the power cord to reboot it.
Now it won't load at all. It locates the server just fine, but hangs on the SageTV Media Extender is starting up screen. All of the PC-based clients and placeshifters work just fine. I've reset the server back to the default interfaces, stopped and started the services, but the MVP just won't load an interface. What the heck did I do to it, and how can I reset it? |

If you know which properties file it uses in the client subdirectory of the SageTV install dir, then you can either remove that properties file for a full reset, or just remove the STV= property line to reset the STV to the default.

Hey, OK. I recall selecting the captioning xml file. I renamed it on the server and the MVP came right up. Obviously it was trying to load that as the interface or something.
Thanks for the tip. I'm back in business. ![]() |
