pc will not power down hard drive with SageTV

I had installed and working V6.1.95 (server/TVClient/Placeshifter)
Very happy.
THEN
I wanted to keep hard drive noise down and decided to modify:
Sage.properties
Sage.properties.autobackup
From:
wizard/db_file=C\:\\Program Files\\SageTV\\SageTV\\Wiz.bin
To:
wizard/db_file=F\:\\SageTV\\Wiz.bin

Then copy wiz.bin to F:\SageTV\
This is AFTER shutting down server and SageTV

It did not work and, somehow, TVClient stopped working on remote computer.
I copied back files and it still did not work.
I then decided to re-install V6.1.95 in all computers
BUT
Along the way I had downloaded V6.2.65 (BETA?)
and this is what I installed as server.
Things just got worse until I realized I not all computers had same version.
So I installed V6.1.95 in all computers (server/TVClient/placeshifter)
Now back to normal EXCEPT:
Now I get stoppage in watching live TV in TVClient.
Randomly!
Most of the time at the end/start of programs but other times as well.

Now I have two problems to solve:
1. TVclient freeze up
2. I still want to keep Sagetv from spinning up hard drive when not
playing or recording (after power down hard drive)
HELP!
