double ir commands on a Mac

With my Hauppauge myTV.PVR remote, if I don't use a very brief key press, I will get multiple commands sent. ie, for channel 35 sometimes I'll get 333. This is clearly a problem with the Hauppauge IR remote, but does anyone have a fix for it?


PS, I'm using a Marantz RC-9500 remote, and get the same problem with either remote. But maybe I could modify the IR code in the marantz to prevent this??

Did you try adjusting the "repeatcount" parameter?

Here are are parts of my IR files. Notice the Motorola DCT-2000 was setup for a repeatcount value of 10 and the JVC-301 with a repeatcount value of 4. You can determine the best value of the repeatcount parameter with a bit of experimentation with the value. Stop SageTV when changing the values, then start it again to test the cable or satellite box response.

MotorolaDCT2000 37616 411 3 600 1000
RepeatCount 10

jvc301 56000 411 2 200 200
RepeatCount 4

The IRHelper.exe stand alone program can help you with some IR problems.

Thanks Dave, I'm not sure how to do this on a Mac though...maybe I'd be better off if the admin scooted this thread over to the mac forum?
