Wierd Time Scrolling or Problem

Maybe I am missing something or I have a problem. When I time-scroll something I can never "catch up " with the live program. If I get to the white bar to catch the green bar in TV mode the pitcure is frozen, I can go backwards but not forwards. Come to think of it, it seems that the pitcure may "freeze" on a regular basis. Maybe I don't understand how this works. On my dish PVR you can go back to "live" at anytime. Do I have a problem? Any help would be apprecated it's driving me crazy.

I am not sure if I understand your problem but will give it a try. Use of the time-scroll requires 3 keystokes. Press time-scroll (arrow and counters should change color, from white to pink on my system), position cursor, press Time-scroll again (arrow and counters should return to original color) to leave time-scroll mode and start viewing at new position. I believe you may be doing only the first two steps and the arrow will not move and never catch up with the green area. What you would be viewing is from the original position of the curson, you did not change it at all, since you have not left the time scroll mode. The "freeze" may be the result of the program reaching the end of the program but you are still in time scroll mode. Hope this helps.

Thanks Carlgar,
I think this may answer my question. I guess I was looking for a command that just switchs between time-scroll and live TV, like my Dish PVR, but I don't think I am going to find it in Sage (v1 at least). I will keep fooling with this thing to make sure that I understand. I am puzzled by one thing, what happens if I press REW during live TV (this is what I beleive I have been doing)?

There really is no live TV (it is delayed 2 or 3 secords). Everything you see with Live TV is recorded to disk. Therefore, you are always in a scroll/pause type mode. I don't know what you call REW but believe it may be skip backwards. I played with Live TV (I almost never use this) today trying to see the "freeze" but could not. Even end of a program should not "freeze" because it just goes to the next show on the same channel. Warning, should should always put SageTV into sleep mode when finished watching LiveTV. Otherwise, recording will continue and may fill your disk space.
