Does a Time-Marker or timeline advance exist in Sage?

One reason I still love Tivo and my cable box is the ability to jump forward to the little markers that are set by 15 minute intervals. I have ff set to 10 seconds and ff2 set to 2.5 minutes (usually a ff2 + one or two ff's get me through the commercials). I'd love to have a way to jump to the 2.5 hour mark of a 3 hour baseball game by hitting a button 5 times.

I'm sure I've missed something somewhere on here. Thoughts?

There is an stvi that does something similar to this. But it is not built into Sage.

While not a one button press solution, there's a Time Scroll command that you can map a remote button to it. What it does is allow you to jump to other parts of the time line without affecting video playback. The FF button jumps 2.5 minutes while FF2 jumps to the beggining and end. How it works is you press the Time Scroll button, the time indicator turns orange, then use the the FF/FF2 buttons so go to the desired point in time, then press the Time Scroll button and the video will jump to that position. The thing is the video does not update until you press the Time Scroll button again, so this allows faster skipping to the desired position in the time line.

In your baseball game case, you press Time Scroll, then press FF2 forward, that jumps the marker to the end, then press FF Rewind a few times to set it at 2.5 hours, then press Time Scroll button again.

If you want to skip through commercials, why not just get show analyzer or comskip installed.

I don't think I've seen a commercial in over 2 years now.

Oh, I use Showanalyzer and Dirmon and skip commercials. Of course it isn't perfect with reruns of Law and Order (that stupid screen that is all black that says "XYZ Law Office, 2:35 P.M. (or whatever) gets flagged as a commercial. It's just a matter of figuring out how to tweak Showanalyzer I guess.

No, what I mean here is let's say I have 2 baseball games recorded; both 3 hours long. All I want to do is catch the last 1/2 hour of each game. If I use the time index and advance to the end of the game (then frantically skip backwards so it doesn't get stuck into that "end of show / watched show" headache, then there's a GREAT chance I'll see THE FINAL SCORE and thus all of this will be for naught! I don't want to see the end, man, this is time shifting! It's why I don't answer the phone when my Dad calls during OSU football games!

So, whoever said they have something but it's not for the default stv, what is it?
