PVR 250 compared to tv tuner in 9600 all in wonder
Ok I just setup the tuner on the ati 9600 all in wondero pro card I have the the crispness to the 250 Wintv card I have is unbelieveable. The 250 card has all these matix colored lines in them compared to this card. I have played with the video settings in the Sage TV software and also the WinTV software and I see it in both. Now on the ati tv card there is none is is like watching tv in that window. This can be both full screen and also windowed.
Can anyone tell me how I can get this Wintv 250 card looking as clear and crisp as the ati card?? I know this is not the forum to be asking this either but I see alot of bright minds in this forum and would love to tap some of that information for my own gain. Thanks. I am running WinXP Pro SP1 (all updates and patches installed) AMD 3000+ 1gig ram, ati 9600 all in wonder pro video card. SB Audigy 2 soundcard.

I'm not sure what software you're using, but if you're using ATI's MMC, the only way to compare the two is to turn the timeshifting feature on in MMC.
The PVR-250 never shows actual live TV, it's always recorded MPEG files you're seeing. As far as improving the PVR-250, yeah, you can really improve it a lot, there are many threads on this forum for doing this, including a very recent one. My suggestions: - Use at least the "Great 2 GB/s" recording quality under SageTV. - Adjust the video settings under Multimedia in SageTV to your liking, but for SURE change the default sharpness to 1 instead of 2. These settings might not stick. There is a thread in here about registry settings to make sure they do. - MOST IMPORTANTLY, make sure the hardware assited decoding is enabled on your video card, as is also explained on these forums in many places. |
