Headless MVP ... need Remote Macros

Hello All,


I am currently using one of my MVPs as an audio player. I have the MVP connected to my stereo ... only using the audio output jacks ... No Video.

I have the sage webserver installed and I have been using the webremote to somewhat controll the MVP. I select the music menu and play the music files at random(Shuffle On) by title.

Problem:
I am still having to connect to video and navigate to get the music selections to play ... When I select the Music menu I do not always start from the top menu item ...Upon selecting the music menu I seem to land at any place on the music menu list.

Request
Is there a way to program the remote to ALWAYS perform a set task? I am currently using the 45 buttom Hauppauge remote. I am looking for maybe a 1 or 2 key solution(maybe power off then back on -to reset menu and then press another key that has been programed to start the music files to playing.

I am thinking out loud now ...


My real problem when using the webremote is ... I am still guessing at my current menu position


If the MVP could talk back to the webremote and let me know my current menu position ... that woul be great. Then I would be able to navigate accordingly


Just a thought .. I am still open for suggestions
