The first thing I'd think of is, when you ran the update, was the "hauppauge remote support" box checked? If not, it will remove the SageTV commands from the hauppauge's irremote.ini file.

If that is what happened, you can reinstall SageTV or see this FAQ or my sig lines for info about irremote.ini files you could use. (But, those ini files may not have the exact same layout as what the installer uses; a couple buttons might be different.)
