6.2.5 Core Updates
I have 6.2.4 configured and tweaked to the point it'd take me quite a while to get 6.2.5 to be as "fine tuned" as my install of 6.2.4 is.
I see in the core updates it lists these two updates: 1. Fixed A/V sync bug with H.264 AVI files 2. Fixed mp3 seek crash bug Out of curiousity, has anyone tried replacing the beta 6.2.4 SageTv.exe with the new one from 6.2.5? I'm sure there's something else that was fixed (dll update, sage.properties or sageclient.properties) to resolve these two issues, but perhaps not. I realize the spirit of this discussion is to provide feedback on the default STV version of beta software, but my spirit is to eliminate those 2 aforementioned problems I'm having with the software I purchased. I will try it tonight and see how it goes; please let me know if anyone else has tried it. I'm just hoping "core" somehow means "SageTV.exe". |

It doesn't, it means not the STV (UI) or Studio (API). "Core" includes a lot of stuff.
Why do you think it will take you a long time to get 6.2.5 tweaked? Just install it right over the top of .4 (backup your stuff first). 5 minutes. |

Well I have SageMC, Movie Times, and a few sageclient.properties modifications on my "production" version of 6.24. Wouldn't a 6.25 install overwrite this stuff?

No. It will reset your STV to the new default SageTV3.xml but then you would just choose you SageMC xml that you are using now. Probably something like SageMC-1.xml.

Also, note that there is a sticky in this forum called "How to install a new version of SageTV", which covers making a backup of your previous version and talks about the custom properties and STVs should not be getting changed during an upgrade install. Making the backup is optional, but it makes it easier to go back if there was an issue during the install.

Well technically you were right; this upgrade worked. Unfortunately, it reset the default filters' merit values so mpg video is using the Sage Splitter (and as thus, choppy and "tearing"....
